Biography

My research centers around the nexus of transformative experiences and tourist memory. Currently, I focus on their manifestation within education abroad, encompassing short-term study abroad programs, international internships, and international students. I examine how experiences gained through travel and learning abroad contribute to the development of sustainable behavior, global citizenship, intercultural competency, and identity formation. I use mixed methods and specialize in grounded theory. My research interests came from both my work experience and personal experience. In the summer of 2017-2019, I co-led study abroad programs to Australia and Fiji. I have also worked at Yellowstone National Park through the Work & Travel USA program. I am passionate about experiential learning through travel and hope to bring the joy of learning and personal development to my students.
