My primary responsibilities as a Professor and Extension Specialist are to develop, implement and evaluate educational programs in Consumer Economics for both youth and adult audiences. Education programs for which I provide leadership include personal finance training for teachers, home buyer education, and financial education programs for senior adults.
My research interests include housing, employment and healthcare, especially relating to rural, low income families. I received my Ph.D. in Human Resource Development/Adult Education from Louisiana State University. I also earned a B.S. in Fashion Merchandising and an M.S. in Textile Science/Extension Education from LSU. I was awarded an MBA from Northeast Louisiana University. I am a Registered Financial Gerontologist.
