RHTM Appalachian Spring

SPECIAL NOTICE

Due to an abundance of caution around the COVID-19 virus, The University of Tennessee is requiring all large-scale events to be canceled. This includes our Appalachian Spring Fundraiser scheduled for March 27th, 2020. During times such as these we, as Volunteers, are all called on to be innovative and flexible. We are excited to continue to honor Jack Daniel’s through our online platforms as this year’s Innovator of the Industry for their economic growth impact to the state of Tennessee through retail, hospitality and tourism and will be highlighting their Lynchburg, Tennessee home place. We are also working to take our incredible silent auction online! Stay tuned for more information on how you can be a part of this adapted event. Jack Daniels has graciously pledged their support to our Retail, Hospitality, and Tourism Management (RHTM) department during this unprecedented time. We are so very grateful.

We are asking ticket and table purchasers to consider converting their investment into a donation to the RHTM Department. Each year, this event raises crucial support for student scholarships and experiential learning opportunities for the following fiscal year. If you choose to convert your ticket into a gift for our students, it will be processed through our UT Advancement office and the amount becomes tax deductible. However, we also understand if you prefer a refund and will accommodate those requests as well.

Please fill out this form and indicate your preference. As you can imagine, the processing for these requests may take a bit of time, but we will remain in touch with you and keep you up to date.

Our Volunteer spirit often shines its brightest during challenging times. We are seeing examples of this every day as this situation continues to evolve. We appreciate your continued support. Please email Myra Loveday at mloveda4@utk.edu if you have any additional questions about this event.

Barrell with Jack Daniels Appalachian Spring Fundraiser 2020 logoThe Retail, Hospitality, and Tourism Management (RHTM) department at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, is celebrating the 18th annual Appalachian Spring Fundraiser.  The event is hosted by our students and is on March 27, 2020, at 5:30 pm, in the Crowne Plaza Hotel located in Knoxville, Tennessee. This year we will honor Jack Daniel’s, an innovator in the retail, hospitality, and tourism sectors. As a staple brand in southern hospitality and rooted in Tennessee, Jack Daniel’s has grown the state in its workforce and in the field of tourism and hospitality over the years. We are beyond ecstatic for the opportunity to host this event to honor such a notable brand while raising money to give back to the students of the Retail, Hospitality, and Tourism Management (RHTM) program.

dinner table at Appalachian Spring FundraiserTo celebrate this occasion, we will begin the evening with our silent auction which will offer unique items from many different retail categories. During the silent auction, we will serve a variety of scrumptious hors-d’oeuvres and delicious complimentary libations of beer, wine, and a Jack Daniel’s inspired cocktail. Following the silent auction, we will serve our guests a gourmet dinner. We are thrilled to have our partners at Jack Daniel’s share their recipes for success during this event as we celebrate the legacy and the impact of this Tennessee staple.

Opportunities are available for multiple levels of sponsorship or you may purchase individual tickets for the dinner.
