RCS student, Mary Cayten Brakefield, took part in the annual Graves Business Plan Competition hosted by The Anderson Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation in UT’s Haslam College of Business.
The Graves Business Plan Competition provides students the opportunity to pitch their entrepreneurial ideas for a chance to win prize money to help start-up their business. In the process, students also receive feedback from the judges to further develop and improve their business plans.
Brakefield’s Cayten + Co won third place in the Lifestyle business category and was awarded $2,000. She plans to design a high fashion clothing line that is adaptable and accessible to all in order to bridge the gap between fashion and disabilities.
“When approached correctly, fashion can be a vessel for so much more than looks,” said Brakefield.
Well deserved, Mary Cayten. Congratulations!
