WE ARE PLANNING OUR HRT reunion – Nov 7-8, 2017

UT HOTEL, RESTAURANT, AND TOURISM ALUMNI

We have some exciting news and would like you to participate and share with other alumni you know.  Carol Costello and Dean Aaser are planning a HRT reunion for Nov 7-8 for all our alumni to reconnect with each other, UT, and current HRT students.  This will give you all the opportunity to reconnect, give back to our department, and potentially recruit new and former UT graduates.

We are proposing the following schedule but would like your input to make this very worthwhile to you and your company:

$189 – all profit will help pay student lab fees for our culinary classes.  This will pay for all reunion expenses and the production of a Who’s Who book.

Nov 7 – 11-12 noon – Registration and greet

12-1pm Lunch

1-4pm  Alumni reconnect.  Where everyone is in their career, employment needs, potential research needs.  Meet the current faculty.

6:30 – 9pm – Dinner at the UT Culinary Institute by Tandy Wilson, James Beard award winner, and our alum.  Tandy will work with our current students to prepare a four course meal paired with beer and wine.

Nov 8 – 8-9am – Light breakfast

9-12 noon – Current HRT student interaction and recruitment

I think that this is long overdue and we have great alumni in fantastic positions across the US.  I think this will be a great event and if successful, we could do this yearly.  Please let us know if you would be interested in attending, or would not be able to attend but would donate to support lab fees and the Who’s who booklet.
